In my younger years baseball was something that I took more seriously. I used to play with my dad every Sunday, but after an unexpected divorce catching with my dad on Sundays halted, and so did baseball in general. I was traumatized by what happened, and felt that stopping baseball in general was the best choice to ease the pain. After four to five years, I decided to get back, and enjoy the sport I enjoyed the most.
Nowadays on a sunny day, and no plans, we as a team get together and just play until we drop. (Not Literally...). Even though fall and winter are approaching I keep grinding everyday to be able to perform my best when spring comes around the corner. Even if it means I have to go to the gym or have to stay home and perform basic drills. Baseball is a sport in which I am very passionate about, and wish to carry on.
It is interesting how our passions wax and wane (become stronger and weaker) with time. I'm sorry to hear that your parents' divorce affected you so much as a child. It certainly is not an easy process to go through, but I'm glad to see that you are back on track, enjoying your passions, again. I appreciate how difficult writing about something like that can be.
ReplyDeleteGenerally, I think your post is well written and easy to understand. However, the sentence -"Not everything is hard work and no play." - has me very confused. When you say, not everything is... no play, you are using a double negative "not" and "no." Just like in math, these negatives cross each other out, so you are really saying everything is play. I don't think this is what you mean, but I can't quite figure out what you do mean.
On another note, when you publish writing online, do not indent the paragraphs. Use two returns to create a space between paragraphs so that the reader knows you are moving on to a new paragraph.
I never knew this side of your baseball story bro. Sorry for what happened with your parents and I'm glad you got back into playing baseball. l look forward to playing side by side with you on the field this upcoming season! We gonna practice hard till then, win the playoffs and take the trophy like the champions that we are!
