This will be my final blog of the rest of the school year. There have been many times where I would look back and reminisce about my past. These blogs is a great way for me to write on my own time, and on what I wish to write about. These blogs have been a little time consuming, but have allowed me to better my writing skills. Not only the blogs, but the grammar rules Ms. Hegeman has distributed.
I know what is a weak clause, to what is passive, to a variety of grammar rules. Sure these twenty grammar rules has been no joke, but they have allowed me to enhance myself for college. I am thankful for everything you have given me Ms. Hegeman since it has changed not only mine, but the class' writing style. I wish you the best, and I wish you carry on doing what you do best.

Senior Trips (FC)
It's near the time where I'm sure we have all been waiting for. The time where we venture off into the real world, and learn who we really are as people into this crazy world. Before we actually graduate we have special activities lined up for us. In just a few more weeks until we begin our senior trips to play paintball, and then six flags a couple of weeks later. In all honesty I'm pumped for it and ready to shoot some people. Although I wish I could participate in Six Flags I can't because of my baseball game. Either way I'm going to do the best I cant to enjoy paintball while I can.
Once these senior trips are done, we are entering June which means graduation is creeping around the corner. We begin our senior barbecue and prom as well. This will be interesting and a lifetime memory with the people I won't forget about. This is because we will go to our selected universities and colleges and we may never see each other again. This is why we have to live this senior year with everyone and have no regrets.

First Baseball Game of the Series (FC)
Today will be the teams first day of the series. We will be going against Bronx Latin in Rainey Fields, and honestly I'm pumped. We knew today's game may be difficult since the weather was below 40 degrees. In all honesty that wasn't going to stop us from playing. I prepared everything needed to start off the season with a bang, but I hear bad news from a chain of teammates. I was told that the game was cancelled, but had no reason behind it. After hearing that news, it honestly upset me.
The night before I spent it getting some last minute practice before our big day, yet to find out that it is cancelled. Mind you it was cold, and in all honesty I guess the momentum was keeping me warm, because of the fact that I was wearing shorts in 40 degree weather. All I can honestly hope to do is to continue practicing and go against our next team, next week, and bring back the win.

Giving Back (FC)
This is an excerpt from an essay I wrote for scholarship. The whole point was to think about how has service made a meaningful impact in our education and/or life. This is what I said:
In life there is an infinite amount of meaningful things that may impact one's life. This can be met with friends, family, or a service that has been there for that person. For me friends, and family fit the description, but service has opened up gateways that will impact my education for the best. I say this because it allows me to expand my horizon, and carve my path unlike others who may not have the same opportunities.
I always knew that family and friends is the driving factor that made me want to strive for bigger and better things, but the meaningful things that others provide helps and isn’t thanked enough. When I would think of a meaningful things for my future like scholarships I would think interviews, and essays, but in reality it isn’t about that. It is about the chance to let the other people who want to help you get to know you better. Ever since I was given a chance to participate in the Valentino D. Carlotti Citizen-Scholar Award Program I wanted to know who he was, and what inspired him to succeed to the point where he is. He told me that parents was a factor, but what really pushed him is his determination for things. If he was determined to get something done, he will get it done no matter the level of difficulty. A lot of us run away from challenging things, but this wasn’t the case when it came to Mr. Carlotti. He opened my eyes saying how you can do whatever you want to do. The only thing that would stop you was if you wasn’t determined. This meaningful talk inspired me not to settle for less when it came to my education, it inspired me to work harder and become determined to what I’m working with.
All in all whether it may be a small chat with someone or a scholarship opportunity, these things have positive effects on me that better my education. Through hardwork and determination I will strive for the best in every opportunity I get. This is all thanks to the meaningful opportunities that I was offered throughout my high school years. This has shaped me to the person I am and road I’m carving. If you were determined to do whatever you want, wouldn’t you do it?

Clothes (ID)
Clothing dates back centuries, and has many functions and uses. They can be used for style, and attract the crowd towards you. It can be used for warmth, or even protection. Back then Native Americans used hides of dead animals to cover themselves. These hides could be used just to cover the vital organs that needs covering, or it can be used to maintain warmth. Usually the Native Americans use deer skin to make their clothes, but it can vary on what animal was hunted. There are processes that comes with making clothes. The Native American women usually tan the hide first so it will last a long time, and not decompose. After the tanning process, which takes a while, they sew the leather together, and make the clothing.
Nowadays clothing is made on factory plants that sews everything. Of course back then the clothes were made by hand, which meant more time and money was spent on labor. The basic material that is needed for the production of clothes is cotton. Workers use mature cotton do make all basic clothing. Considering back then animal skin was used as clothing, now we use cotton. The process used to make clothes is a bit time consuming. They need to blow away the ball from the cotton fibers to leave behind a fluffy material, and then remove the seeds. Back then everything was done by hand, and they used the cotton gin to help with cleaning the cotton.

Much Abdo About Nothing (FC)
Today we went to see the play Much Ado About Nothing downtown. This wasn't my first time in a play neither will it be my last, but it was a good play. I understood the background, and the plot. The actors that played Benedict and Bernice where by far my favorite characters because of the fact that they made it funny, and targeted our views. I was able to tell that there was slapstick in the play where the two cops came up. I wasn't sure what their point in the play was, but you can easily tell they're being made fun of. While the play was good the criticism we received cause of my fellow peers wasn't .
We paid 10 dollars to watch a play, that quite frankly interested me, yet I didn't pay to get told by other people what my peers did. Of course the rudeness they had and the sleeping is what made them have a horrible review on what they though of our school. This is how I put it for those who slept, "you just paid 10 dollars to sleep". While I know if you're tired you sleep, but still show the actors some respect. I could go on and on about this topic, but overall this play was great.

Morocco Baby (PB)
Always when I was a child I enjoyed flying and what came with it. It came with new experiences and ideas that I never had here in the United States. At first I wasn't so sure of Morocco, but after experiencing what I did there I wish I can travel anytime. This experience has broken that culture barrier, and gets you out of your little comfort zone. Morocco is full of new things that you don't get to see much in the states. For instance camels. When I heard about camels I was hesitant on even riding one. When we got to a place where we can ride them I broke, and decided to give it a shot. The ride was actually quite fun and am thankful I decided to ride on one. I said "why not I'm never going to do this in the states I might as well do it here." Of course this wasn't even all the excitement that happened.
A few days back we ended up eating the very creature I rode on. We had a camel burger, and may I say it was gooood. Of course it's not something I would crave, but if had to eat it again I would. This made me remember how walking through the Medina (market place) we saw a camel head. Of course camel isn't the only thing on the menu. There are variety of foods that we ate, like lamb tagine (Moroccan most famous dish), couscous, and even a variety of fresh seafood.
Yep that's a camel head
All in all the experience was amazing, but words and this blog cannot say how passionate I feel about Morocco. It's a great experience, and I would most definitely recommend Morocco as the place to be. I feel if I had a chance to go back for a few weeks, I would take it with no hesitation.

The Taming of the Shrew (CRR)
In English class we are reading The Taming of the Shrew. At first the language was a bit complicated and difficult to follow. I would read a line and then page, and not understand what I just read. Although after I started getting into the book is when I started comprehending the language a bit better. I soon started making connections to the real world and even enjoying it to the point where I wonder what may happen next. Of course the annotations that come with it is a hassle because sometimes I just want to read it, but in the future if I ever need to look back i'll know what happened because of my annotation.
So far what I've gotten out of the book is that Bianca is a beautiful woman who has many people falling for her. There was even a point where men fought for her marriage. Of course she had to wait until her sister Katherina got married. Problem was that Katherina had a horrible mouth. She was just as beautiful as Bianca, but her mouth is what made her seem like a "devil". So far that's the gist of Act one and two that I understood.

Hovercraft (CRR)
While doing one of my projects I was reading some info on my hovercraft. I found the historical content on the hovercraft, and found it quite interesting. After 4 years of designing the perfect hovercraft, the Hovercraft made its first public appearance crossing the English Channel in front of the World press. The Hovercraft driven by Christopher Cockerell crossed the English Channel in 20 minutes breaking any record behind it. The Hovercraft had made a 4 hour long trip by boat in only 20 minutes. Soon after the Hovercraft was used as a new way to travel, it has carried over 80 million people and 12 million cars over 30 years.
In the mid 1960’s, Cockrell dropped the out of the Hovercraft team because of his disagreement with the Research Development Corporation. His disagreed with the decision to license foreign companies to develop hovercrafts for royalties and the production of the hovercraft. The Research Development Corporation began to develop cheaper hovercrafts that weren’t as reliable as the originals. Later on in the late 1970, Corkerell began to go pass the hovercraft and begin thinking about Hovertrains and sidewall hovercrafts, but years later he died and left saying “Hovercraft will always be around – you can’t invent something!”

Watership Down (ID)
In our government class, our teacher decided to show us a movie about rabbits. Yes you heard it right, rabbits. While at first I was a bit skeptical about this movie, I have come to realize that these rabbits have similar patterns and ideas as we do. While we believe we are the superior species that lie in the world, the rabbits believed it as well. These rabbit had similar thinking patterns as humans that there was even sexism portrayed in the movie.
One thing, while I saw the movie, was that their form of governing themselves and as well everyone else. It has come clear to me that even rabbits have their own form of government system that everyone has to follow. At the beginning the main characters Hazel and Fiver were under a form of dictatorship rule that they weren't even allowed to leave, even if it was on their own free will. In reality we have to think if other species have similar traits that resemble ours.

Morocco (FC)
As my senior year progresses I've come to realize that I'm getting closer to my departure to Morocco. I have had this trip planned since the last few weeks of my junior year in high school, yet it feels an eternity. While I've waited I had to prepare myself mentally. I say this because I'm entering a foreign country where the culture and historical background is completely different from what I'm accustomed to. When I decided to partake in this international trip I did a little research on what I'm getting myself into.
While looking for Morocco related stuffs I stumble upon a variety of things. Some things like historic cities and monuments that are housed in Morocco. As well I've come to realize that Morocco is one of the most ancient countries in Africa. While I am excited to see the magnificent beaches, and unique sights that come along with going here I am worried about the crime there. The United States Government site did say that there was a high crime rate in Morocco so my peers that are attending and I should be wary of that. Luckily I decided to do some background into Morocco because if I didn't do anything I would be entering there blind.
